We started homeschooling our daughter around 2nd grade, for a variety of educational and developmental reasons. Steps along our journey were often frustrating and overwhelming for our family. I was not individually equipped to completely manage and handle all of my daughter’s unique processing challenges and roadblocks. Miraculously, eight years later, she is currently working on her 10th grade year, which we would not have been able to achieve without a mountain of supportive people and online resources. As a homeschooling mom, I have been constantly collecting and swapping helpful tips for parents and students of all ages. Check out some of my websites for: Math, Science, Language Arts, and Multi-Subject resources. My newest discovery is Varsity Tutors. Varsity Tutors offers a wide range of online Live and Asynchronous classes for all ages and multiple subject areas.

One stressed out parent submitted this validation on the impact that Varsity Tutors had on her elementary-school-aged daughter:

Hi- I would first like to start with a sincere THANK YOU to your organization for creating Virtual School Day (I learned about it through an AdAge article). It has been such a wonderful tool for me as a single working mother. My 6YO daughter is taking 3 classes currently. She has ADHD and some other learning challenges but it engaged her and is helping me to get work done while she is engaging with another adult.

I wanted to give a special acknowledgement to Mrs Mason. Her sight words class in the afternoon is our absolute favorite! Afternoon classes can be tough for my daughter but Mrs Mason is so delightful that it holds Evangeline’s attention. Mrs Mason is sure to engage in the chat, call out students names and stay extra minutes to ensure all questions are answered. She is by far the best tutor we have encountered. I wanted to be sure and acknowledge her as exceptional! Please thank her for being amazing to the 150+ kids that join her daily.
