Disney has an exciting NEW action adventure planned for August, 2019! Check out this teaser trailer and poster from Disney’s ARTEMIS FOWL, based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer.

Director Kenneth Branagh takes us on an adventure with 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl. Artemis is a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, who finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies. Will he figure out who is really behind the mysterious disappearance of his father?

I am not familiar with this book, and am debating whether or not to read it before we see the movie next summer. What are your thoughts?

In addition to being intrigued with a curious story or trailer, I am often interested in a film due to the talent involved both in front and behind the camera. This not yet rated (potentially high PG/low PG-13) fantasy includes:

  • New-comer actor, Ferdia Shaw
  • Up-and-coming actress Lara McDonnell
  • Tamara Smart, from TV’s THE WORST WITCH
  • British TV series and video game-voice actress originally from the Shakespeare stage, Miranda Raison
  • Nonso Anozie, a familiar character-actor from DR WHO (2015), ENDER’S GAME (2013) and GAME OF THRONES (2012)
  • Josh Gad, brings his ‘Olaf’/FROZEN (2013) and ‘LeFou’/BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (2017) wit as kleptomaniac dwarf ‘Mulch Diggums’
  • Oscar and multiple-award winner Dame Judi Dench is one of my favorite classy, clever and sharp thespians of the stage and screen
  • Actor turned director Shakespearean-trained stage and screen Kenneth Branagh utilizes his talent from his previous films such as MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (2017), CINDERELLA (2015), and THOR (2011)
