THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS – New Poster & Trailer #DisneysNutcracker

It is my pleasure to share a peek into this magical holiday feature film from Disney. Enjoy the new poster and trailer from THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS!

What is the movie about?

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key. This unique key unlocks a box that holds a priceless gift: a golden thread. This mystical thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key – which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. There, Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by the E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.

Mackenzie Foy is Clara and Keira Knightley is the Sugar Plum Fairy in Disney’s THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS.

Stella’s Expectations

The trailer opens up a gorgeous and mystical world to explore. Disney’s previous fantasy movies have been dynamically and beautifully etched across the screen.

I am also excited to watch some of my favorite character actors take on these new roles:

  • Keira Knightly (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, LOVE ACTUALLY/2003) Just to name a few.
  • Mackenzie Foy (INTERSTELLER/2014) Who has held her own against strong talent in several projects.
  • Dame Helen Mirren (royal talent with a phenomenal filmography that includes the dramatic THE QUEEN/2006 and fiery action thriller RED/2010)
  • Morgan Freeman (endless list… going back to ELECTRIC COMPANY/1971-1977) One of the top versatile actors today
  • Matthew Macfayden (LITTLE DORRIT/2008) who rounds out a very skilled cast with his own impressive list of projects and awards
