Friends, I am bursting with excitement at each nugget that Disney gives us to share with you – ALL leading up to the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST Disney movie in theaters everywhere on March 17th, 2017! Check out these gorgeous Beauty and the Beast character posters for the live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic, which include: Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the Beast and as the Prince, Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.
The artistic rendering of each characters’ poster often feature a fluid background, the actor and their represented object in a creative style. The portrait-esque posters come together to ultimately create a wonderful panel. I would love to frame each one of them around my house as decor. Similar to the artwork from 1992’s Dracula and Disney’s 2016 Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Emma Watson steps away from her role as Harry Potter’s ‘Hermione Granger’ and into the perfectly molded role of blossoming beauty, Belle.
Dan Stevens (my prince from Downton Abbey) fits the role of Beast and The Prince brilliantly.
Directed by Bill Condon, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST brings the story and characters audiences know and love to life in a stunning, cinematic event.
Multi-talented Stanley Tucci takes on the role of Cadenza, the harpsichord. This musical instrument appeared in one of the sequels to the animated classic, Beauty and the Beast. Tucci will most likely bring his wit, charm, bite, and slanted humor to this role.
In addition to her theatrical work, Audra McDonald maintains a major career as a concert and recording artist, regularly appearing on the great stages of the world. With a record six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and a long list of other accolades to her name, I am sure she will be quite dazzling on-screen as wardrobe/Madame Garderobe.
I first noticed Gugu Mbatha-Raw as a supporting role in the highly-entertaining BBC sci-fi series, Dr. Who. She is quite charming and will be fun to watch as perky feather duster, Plumette.
Kevin Kline‘s bag of thespian tricks will bring more to the role of ‘crazy old Maurice’ then we have ever seen before.
Bumbling sidekick, Lefou, could not be played by anyone other than Josh Gad. Josh will bring his adorable humor, bubbly enthusiasm and quirky annoyance to Gaston’s mob.
The role of egotistic, ignorant, chauvinistic male antagonist Gaston, will be entertaining to watch as Luke Evans steps into that role.
(Virtually unrecognizable in this poster), Ewan McGregor takes on Lumiere, the charming candelabra Master of Ceremonies of the enchanted castle.
Head of dining and kitchen staff, Mrs. Potts is fabulously represented by one of my favorite British talents, Emma Thompson.
Ian McKellen brings his sparkle to somewhat stodgy and stuffy Cogsworth.
