I love shaved ice. I have always loved shaved ice. It was one of the things I missed most from my early days as a haole kid living in Hawa’ii. Then when we moved to Japan, I quickly learned about Japanese shaved ice desserts. This traditional Japanese-style shaved ice dessert pictured below is flavored with Matcha Green Tea. You will also find red bean as well as the standard rainbow-assortment of syrup flavors.

Jump to my current chapter in life, a mom and wife in suburban/rural South-central Pennsylvania. We love our life out here, and often take opportunities to venture out to cities or bring international culture home. From an early age, I introduced Shaved Ice desserts to my daughter. When we have wonderful powder snow days in winter, we would just reach outside and grab a bowl of the snow. Other days, any time of the year, we would crank my Japanese/Hawa’iian Shaved Ice Machine and decorate with our favorite syrups.
Recently, we had the opportunity to test run an electric ice shaving machine. The Ivation Electric IS80 Shaved Ice Machine is a MUST ADD to your kitchen collection. It allows you to easily create and serve the most delicious and delightful desserts and treats.
The simple but durable mechanics make this machine ideal for your home kitchen, Dorm Room, Office or Club House.
