My personal journey exploring Essential Oils began with my daughter [see article My Introduction to Essential Oils for that story]. After such wonderful continued success with her, I switched my attention over to myself. Having always struggled with anxiety and depression tendencies, I strive to maintain a constant state of awareness. If I don’t keep myself ‘in check’, I can easily slip into a ‘bad head zone’ – which turns into physical and spiritual pain. Very similar to the old Cherokee Indian legend, ‘Two Wolves’ which illustrates our choice to feed (and strengthen) our positive thoughts or our negative thoughts.
An old Cherokee man is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
Educating myself and sharing resources has been a lifetime campaign and I cherish the opportunity to create that niche in my blog. Previous posts include: Seasonal Emotional Management and 5-minute Sanity Breaks. As I constantly seek knowledge, I will keep adding to my blog. Make sure to check back often.
One of our Young Living Essential Oils workshop focused on Emotional Healing and Maintenance with Essential Oils. I am very familiar with the connection, since I have been using Young Living Essential Oils exactly for that purpose. Currently I have used:
- Progessence Plus Serum: 1 drop of this potent serum is applied every morning to the nape of my neck, for hormonal balance.
- Peace&Calming Blend Essential Oil: P&C is my daily anti-anxiety and de-stressor oil. I dilute it with grape-seed carrier oil and apply topically to my inner arms and rub together. Sometimes I may also just smell it, or wear it in my diffuser necklace.
- Valor Blend Essential Oil: Valor is layered onto, or combined with my P&C in preparation for an upcoming potentially stressful situation (or person, etc.).
I am not a physician, or professional in the health and wellness field. I cannot diagnose, treat or prescribe anything officially. My results are my personal experiences with my Young Living Essential Oils. Please refer to a trusted professional before discontinuing any medication.
During our meeting, a remarkable chart was discussed:
On her site: The Aroma Blog, Cristina explain how we can use natural essential oils for calmness, clarity or balance. I have experienced relief and have helped friends find the best combination for their issues. If you have a personal experience you would like to share in a guest post, feel free to email me and I can keep it anonymous. Oils can work differently on everyone. I really love that most of the ‘side effects’ is that the particular oil doesn’t work. Or I need to make it stronger or weaker to be effective.
I have had the best success with Young Living Essential Oils, and have tried other companies. You are more than welcome to purchase directly from me or join the ‘club’. Young Living does not function like the standard direct sales business (e.g. Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.). With Young Living, you can pay retail from me or wholesale (like Costco or Sam’s Club).
