Seasonal Emotional Management

Women seem to struggle more with emotional management – which is vital for personal achievement and functioning in life.

As the weather changes during this Fall/Winter transition, several of us find ourselves extra lethargic, grumpy, or even depressed. Depression can be serious and displayed as excessive sadness, feelings of worthlessness, sudden weight loss or gain, trouble sleeping, and loss of interest in favorite activities. These symptoms can continue for longer periods of time, and if not treated, it can destroy an individual’s quality of life.

I have learned that certain essential oils and blends can help calm emotional tidal waves.

In dealing with anxiety and depression, these are my favorite oil blends, which I apply first thing in the morning to my inner arm. Then I apply throughout the day (2-3x, depending on my stress level):

  • Peace & Calming
  • Valor

In addition to rolling either of these on my arm, I can also diffuse them, or add them directly to my shower.

Here are some other oils and blends that can be helpful during the darker seasonal days ahead:

  • Stress Away Essential Oil
  • Stress Away Roll-On
  • Lemon (aromatic or topical)
  • Frankincense (aromatic or topical)
  • Lavender (aromatic)
  • Joy (aromatic or topical) 5 drops in palm of non-dominant hand, then apply over heart and breathe
