** This post does not contain spoilers **
As you may have seen in my previous post:
My husband and I were looking forward to this movie, ever since we first saw the trailer.
As you can see from the trailer, the main story is that an astronaut (Matt Damon) is left on Mars and NASA/rescue is only 140 million miles away.
4-scale Popcorn Rating:
Thoughts (no spoilers):
- Met all my expectations of a movie with Matt Damon, and/or Ridley Scott
- If you liked ‘Castaway’, you’ll like this
- If you liked ‘Gravity’, you’ll like this
- If you liked ‘Apollo 13’, you’ll like this
- Great cast, great SFX
- Loved the constant problem-solving and suspenseful aspect of the survival story
- Enjoyed the emotional journey of Matt’s character, as he ‘took us along’ his story
- The Action Movie Physics were well done. Scientifically sound. Nothing TOO farfetched distracted us from the movie. [Example: Armageddon (1998)]
- I would recommend this movie. Especially on the big screen (unless you have a high quality home entertainment system).
