Over the past year, I noticed another ‘home business’ crop up – LuLaRoe. I am pretty familiar with direct-sales, home businesses as both a consultant and a customer. Most of my mom friends enjoy either hosting or running part-time businesses out of their homes. Over the last decade, you could pretty much find ANYTHING you wanted to buy or sell out of your home. For example, I fell in love and became a Pampered Chef kitchen consultant in 2005. I relished being with other women and chatting about kitchen gadgets [which I could get at a discount]. That lasted a few years and I still utilize several PC gadgets in my kitchen while others are set aside for annual use. Many of the Pampered Chef items are such good quality, that often customers would not need to re-order. Therefore, I found another fun business that I could teach people in a casual setting, make my own hours with regular re-orders. I have been a Mary Kay consultant for seven years and have enjoyed showing people how to take better care of their skin, as well as play with color.
Then more recently, I have gotten into the Health and Wellness world of Young Living Essential Oils. Click here for my introduction to oils.
Being surrounded by home businesses, you can imagine my reluctance to hop onto yet ANOTHER fad… but gradually, I kept seeing ladies wearing and sharing their new LuLaRoe fashion pieces. I was curious and started looking into the website:
The website lists a mere 15-20 basic/no-frills style of leggings, skirts, tops and dresses. The patterns looked varied and fun, but honestly, I outgrew my legging phase back in college in the early ’90s. I thought that only skinny girls (and my daughter) could get away with wearing skin-tight clothes nowadays.
Then, my voluptuous, gorgeous fashion-savvy friend blogged about her LuLaRoe dress! Click here to read Joyce’s LuLaRoe Fashion Review
Well, if my girlfren loves it then I would too! Next, someone scheduled an online party and I decided to join and check it out.
- I looked through the collection and narrowed down my interest to a few categories (leggings for my daughter and myself, and a skirt for my daughter).
- My skinny-mini 11-year old has always been challenging to dress. Right now, she is a 6/8 waist and 10/12 leg…
To my shock… both my daughter and I fell IN LOVE with the patterns, material and styles:
My leggings are the SOFTEST, most buttery feeling I have ever experienced! Meanwhile, my daughter who has sensory issues, was SO excited about her skirt, that she slept in it!!
I love that the styles lend themselves to be worn ‘as is’ for low-maintenance chicks like me, or layered and presented in an AbFab look by amateur fashionistas! How brilliant is that?!
Check back next week for more information. I will also have more pieces by then, and will fill you in on all the Facebook sales I have found and ways that my wardrobe has transformed.
